Initial Questions:
1. Why does one need an interior designer if he/she has the time, money, and the taste?
Answer:
Protects Investments: A considerable amount of investment is involved when you are planning to renovate either new premises or your old ones. Wrong decisions could leave you with expensive mistakes long after the project is completed. An interior designer is a skilled professional with the requisite qualifications, resources, and expertise, who will ensure that the job done is appropriate as per your requirement, within budget, and on time. Hence, the involvement of a professional is advisable.

Collaboration of Different Expertise: When the cooperative efforts between the client, designer, and other professionals meet, it gives rise to a unique concept simply by sharing ideas and consensus of minds. You understand your needs, your desires, and your surroundings better than anyone else does. We best understand how to give life to those desired visions. Thus, when both of us meet, it leads to a unique creation. Each project is focused and unique – a balance of aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, and economics to suit your culture and personal taste.
2. How true is it that a designer's influence leads to an increase in the project cost?
Answer:
An amateur working on designing your interiors could require the usage of more resources in terms of time and money as he lacks professional knowledge. With years of specialized education and training, coupled with practical experience in their fields, interior designers are capable of bringing construction costs down considerably. Most importantly, they can guarantee you value for money. At Mistry Furniture and Interior Designs, we go a step beyond and even surpass your expectations and leave you in a state of delight. We design solutions that ensure minimum wastage, assisting clients to get discounts from suppliers, and verifying contractor’s bills contributing largely to achieving a reduction in wastage and expenses.
3. When is the apt time to approach a designer?
Answer:
The ideal time should be during the planning stage, i.e. before the actual construction of the building commences. Consider creating the doors and windows openings as per the desired layout of the bed, the wardrobe, and the chairs, rather than trying to ill-fit the bed in an existing small bedroom with fixed movement areas. This additionally saves up on expenses involved in making structural changes at a later stage.
Technical Questions:
1. Once the designer is finalized, when can we start work at the site?
Answer:
It is in the interest of the client to let the designer freeze most of the paperwork and identify the materials to be used as much as the respective contractors before starting the actual site work. It is advisable to try to hurry up initially and then increasing up on the costs due to the subsequent delays in work and the ever-changing layouts.
2. What will be the duration of time for completion of the project?
Answer:
Once the layout plans are frozen with the client after incorporating all his requirements, the interior designers work out the time required for completion of the project. The estimated time for completion is determined after considering all the factors like designing, procurement of material, civil changes, execution of work by laborers, etc.
3. Is the assistance of a designer needed in the procurement of the materials?
Answer:
Material procurement is something that we leave to our clients. However, if desired, we can assist the client in procuring quality material in the best possible price. Either way, we operate strictly on a fee-to-service basis and pass on all professional discounts and commissions to our clients, therefore protecting the client’s interests at all times.
Billing Questions:
1. Is the determination of cost possible before the beginning of a project?
Answer:
Certainly! There are two ways of achieving this. We’ve developed our own hands-on system to take the estimate of the interior design budgeting. Using a systematic approach, all the items of work are clearly specified, quantified, and budgeted. Before the start of the project, we provide the client with a final cost estimate. In the event that there is a limited budget, we can always work backward and create the best possible design solution within a given cost. We are always sensitive to our clients’ budgets.
2. How does the designer go about the initial and final consultations?
Answer:
At a retention fee which is adjusted in the actual fee amount, we take up the site measurement, come up with options for the basic plan, and hold initial meetings with the client to enable ourselves to know each other better. This also helps us to arrive at the final estimated cost, which is based on the client’s brief and requirements. Our fee is generally an amount decided by us in a lump sum rather than as a percentage to avoid any kind of influence on the total project cost.
3. What are ‘free unlimited 3D designs’ & ‘100% designing charges waved off’ as claimed on this website?
Answer:
If Mistry Designs Studio executes your total turnkey project including materials, labor, and supervision, then designing charges are free; otherwise ₹400 per sq.ft designing charges are payable.
